Thea + Nilsson’s stunning Oklahoma City wedding graced the pages of our premiere issue of Southern Weddings Magazine. The two met while in college at Harvard and it was love at first sight. Their first meeting ended with Nilsson leaving Quincy Courtyard with Thea’s phone number in hand and Thea leaving with butterflies. The couple was married at {Westminster Presbyterian Church} and celebrated with a reception at the {Oklahoma History Center}. Thea was dressed in a beautiful {Austin Scarlett for Kenneth Pool} gown that she chose from the incredible selection at {Kleinfield}. Completing the look was a bouquet of orchids in purple, yellow and white created by Alan White of {New Leaf Florist}. Nilsson looked dashing in his {Keith Lloyd Couture} black tie suit. The bridesmaids wore violet gowns from {Tadashi} and the invitations and stationery were created by {No Regrets}. The reception at the Oklahoma History Center kicked off with a dinner by master caterer and family friend Jamie of {Jamie’s Culinary}. Thea + Nilsson danced a bolero routine for the first dance and had their guests join them for a group dance to “Proud Mary”. Musical entertainment was provided by DJ 88 and {Jeff Shadley and the After Dark Orchestra}. The perfect ending to the night was definitely the CAKES! Both cakes were created by {Sylvia Weinstock Cakes} (we had the joy of meeting Sylvia at the last Engage08 conference… she was a hoot!) The wedding cake was over sixty inches tall with gorgeous detailing. The grooms cake was a Hilton Head, South Carolina lighthouse (where Nilsson had proposed to his bride). This wedding was planned by {Cathy Johnson}. Photography by the fabulous {Jessica Claire} and second shooter {Kyle Barnes}. We can’t thank Jessica enough for sharing this wedding with us! Check out her blog post of the wedding {here}. Isn’t Thea stunning!? Happy Friday, y’all!
Congratulations, Thea + Nilsson!

Lovely wedding, but I wonder over the groome first name, is it Nilsson? I´m from Sweden and here thats a really common last namn and means the son of Nils. So I gues the groom has roots in Sweden? But no one here has it as i first name, but I thougt it was really nice =) (sorry if I speld something wronge)
