Real Wedding: Marisol + Ellier, Part I

We have a treat for you from beautiful South Florida.  Marisol + Ellier had been togther for eleven years before taking the walk down the aisle. So when it was time to say the vows, the two did it instyle.  First, Marisol purchased a beautiful {Priscilla of Boston} gown. Then the two chose the amazing {Church of Little Flower} to wed at. More to come in the next post including photos from their reception at the {Deering Estate}.

Describe the proposal: Ellier, surprised me one day while at work with champagne, balloons, and of course the beautiful ring. He almost stumbled onto the floor at how nervous he was while trying to kneel down on one knee. It was very romantic but funny at the same time!
What attracted me to my husband was: He has a great smile and is very caring.
Why do you love your husband? He treats me like a queen and loves me more than I’ll ever know.
What attracted me to my wife was: Her beautiful green eyes.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I did all of my dress shopping online and knew exactly which dress I wanted. They had just opened a Priscilla of Boston boutique in Miami. I went in and purchased it on the spot, and I didn’t even try it on!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Walking into the church with my father and seeing my future husband at the end of the aisle waiting for me. That was the best moment.

More to come from Marisol + Ellier!

Details: Vanessa + Scott, Part I

Today, we have a very special wedding feature. Vanessa is one of Lara Casey’s, our editor-in-chief, childhood friends, and this wedding is very near and dear to her. In addition, we love the family elements of this wedding. But we will let, Katie from {Jenna Walker Photography} describes this fantastic wedding.

“There are no words to describe the graciousness and authenticity by which Vanessa and Scott embraced their wedding day. It was meant to be that classic mountain wedding – with their guests flying in from New York and elsewhere to see Colorado up close and personal. Using chairlifts they would ride to a ceremony at 10,200 feet. Mother Nature had other plans. The clouds came, followed by rain, by lightning. This was not the mountain wedding Vanessa and Scott had imagined. While the afternoon thunderstorm would shut down the chairlift and make for a transportation “situation” of sorts, it would not dampen the moods of Vanessa, Scott or any of their guests. As photographers, especially in Colorado, we see this sort of rain delay quite often. Yet, Vanessa and Scott were so keen to see the bright side of things – and the brighter side came around. And so it goes, the clouds cleared…making for serendipitous timing just as Dad was to walk his little girl down the aisle. All that rain as a reminder of the good things to come – the goodness they share in their life together. It was a beautiful day as Vanessa’s father married the two – not a dry eye on the mountain!”

More from this beautiful wedding to come…

Wanwisa Wednesday: Watercolor and Wildflowers

May 13, 2009 by Lara in Inspirations | 0 comments

Welcome back to another spectacular Wanwisa Wednesday! Be sure to check out her previous posts I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, XVII, XVII, XIX, XX, XXI, XXII, XXIII, XXIV, XXV, XXVI, XXVII, XXVIII, XXIX, XXX, XXXI, XXXII, XXXIII and XXXIV for more fabulous wedding inspiration!

Lately I have been a little obsessed with watercolor illustrations. With that said, today, I bring some inspiration that’s all about the type of whimsical watercolor touches that are reminders of nostalgic childhood summers spent reading Peter Rabbit tales and picking wildflowers in the park. The look is a little romantic, a little organic and a whole lot of chic. Have a peak!

First Row: Paper chic – gorgeously illustrated invitations by Felix Doolittle. Second Row: Jcrew Silk-print “Sweet Papaya” pumps, a “fresh-picked” bouquet of Spanish Lavender and flowering oregano via Brides.com, and a gorgeous watercolor-chiffon gown by Atelier Aimee. Third Row: edible flowers add whimsy to summer cocktails via Martha Stewart. Pretty take-away bouquets make sweet parting gifts {via Martha Stewart Weddings}, wildflower-tacks keep escort cards in place on wooden planks {via Brides.com} and sugar-wildflowers dress a classic multi-tier cake {via Brides.com}. Fourth row: Edible flowers add whimsy to cupcakes {via Martha Stewart Weddings}, a chic illustration by uber-talented watercolor artist Anne Watkins, glamour-chic watercolor gown by Marchesa and a pretty crown of flowers for the flower girl {via Brides.com}. Bottom row: Pansy-stuffed cabbage {via Real Simple}, potted-wildflower escort card design {via Brides.com}, pails filled with fresh-picked wildflowers {via Martha Stewart Weddings} and lavender cupcakes topped with edible flowers {via Martha Stewart}.

Until next Wednesday! Xoxo, Wanwisa
