Welcome back to our Ultimate Southern Mason Jar finalist series!
All I have to say about this next entry is, who knew barbecue could be so cute?! Stylist Carlee Sizemore and photographer Leslie Kerrigan did such a great job with this cheery set-up. Read on for all of the details behind their barbeque bar concept!
From Carlee + Leslie:
“We loved the idea of setting up a Southern BBQ Bar and serving the ‘que in individual Mason jars. Whether you use the traditional pulled pork BBQ, chicken or beef brisket (we love Texas style BBQ, too!), we think guests will love being able to dress their barbeque with their choice of sauce. Including favorites such as Eastern North Carolina Vinegar based, Carolina Gold, Alabama White and plain ol’ barbeque sauce in various sized jars gives a nice, colorful look to the BBQ table (and who knows? maybe they’ll find their new favorite ‘que style). Throw some silverware in a jar wrapped in jute and you’re all set! I love the flexibility that a BBQ bar brings: it’s perfect for a catered rehearsal dinner or a backyard reception.”
Thank you so much, ladies! Readers, if you love this concept, be sure to let us know in the comments! And remember, you’re welcome to vote for more than one finalist!

Bess, October 13, 2011 5:19 pm reply A really cute idea! Not only great for a southern wedding reception/rehearsal party but a great idea for a backyard party. I love the sterling or heavy plate flatware with the more casual theme. But I would not have enough sterling for a crowd and I would be counting it all night to make sure that someone did not put a piece in the trash or their pocket! It looks super though!

Lauren, October 13, 2011 8:04 pm reply This is a great idea! We do something similar with Indian food (start with the basics and add your own toppings), but here in Virginia, this BBQ would be a huge hit at any party!
