Garden Party Wedding by Tanja Lippert, Part 1

Oh my. How does one write the real wedding introduction for one’s own wedding?? There’s so much I could say, and yet, thankfully, the lovely images by Tanja Lippert say more than I ever could. Of course, that hasn’t stopped me from adding in a few notes here and there! Since y’all had such a hand in planning it, I very much hope you enjoy this extended look at my and John’s wedding. And if you haven’t yet seen it in print, do pick up a copy of V5 here!

What was the weather like on your big day? It was PERFECT. Bright blue sky, crisp but warm air, mid-70s… we couldn’t have handpicked a better day. I am so thankful it turned out as it did! The only thing I ever really knew I wanted for my someday future wedding was that I wanted it to take place in Connecticut (where both John and I grew up), and I wanted it to take place in September. It’s my absolute favorite month in New England, and the day God delivered was exactly the day I was picturing when I dreamed about a September wedding.

Y’all know I love paper, and I always knew I would have high standards for my one-day wedding invitation. Working with Magpie Paper Works and MM Ink to produce this beauty was a dream come true!

My sister in law drew the custom map below — isn’t it darling?

My wedding dress search spanned three states and five stores. I started the hunt in Charleston, where I fell in love with a Monique Lhuillier and a Vera Wang at Maddison Row. I then looked in Connecticut at The White Dress by the Shore, but didn’t even have a top contender at the end of that trip. My third stop (with just Mom this time) was at Nitsa’s in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The first dress I tried on was the “Brisa,” by Christos, and the best way I can describe it is that it just felt like me. I had never seen another bride wear it before, which I didn’t think was important to me, but apparently it was! (And since I work at a wedding magazine, stumping me with a “new” gown is pretty tough.) We visited two more stores after that to make sure, but it was Brisa in the end. The funniest part about wearing my dress was that people asked to touch it all day! I guess the skirt looked very soft :)

Our beautiful horsehair-edged veil was a custom creation by Chaviano Couture. I dreamed it up with John’s sister, who got married exactly two months before John and I did. It’s our hope that our sisters and maybe even children will one day wear it, too!

I struggled for a long time with what to inscribe on our Paloma’s Nest ring bearer bowl, and eventually decided on simply “grateful,” plus our wedding date.

I have a very distinct style when it comes to flowers, and happily, I found my match in Elisabeth from Blush Floral Design. I asked for a lush garden look with garden roses, ranunculus, sweet pea, lambs ear, and anemones in whites, creams, and the palest blushes. The stem of my bouquet (which I loved!) was wrapped in pleated pale blue ribbon I picked up on a special trip to New York City. We incorporated tiny apples and berries into the cocktail hour and reception centerpieces, as well.

You can read more about our decision to do a first look right here. It wasn’t the overwhelmingly emotional part of the day that it is for some people — more joyful — but we were glad we did it and it worked well with our timeline.

My bridesmaids wore long charcoal gray dresses by Dessy. Choosing bridesmaid attire was one of the, if not the, hardest decision I made while wedding planning, though they all looked beautiful in the end!

I adore that photo of our dads! So good.

Bride’s favorite detail of the wedding: I really loved the boutonniere and bell boards we set up at the church. Upon arrival, gentlemen were invited to pin on a velvet ribbon boutonniere, and ladies could take a little silver bell to ring at the end of our ceremony. I loved that these details made our guests feel special, and included in the celebration, right from the beginning!

In the days and months leading up to our wedding, I wondered often about how my emotions would manifest themselves on the big day. I tend to be pretty unpredictable with crying – I’ll tear up at commercials, but often won’t shed a drop in situations where it’s expected, you know? If anything, I expected to cry while reciting our vows, and during the father daughter dance. Turns out I was wrong on both accounts, though I did get extremely emotional at one point.

Throughout the morning of our wedding, I felt quite calm, and quietly excited. I didn’t feel nervous, and I didn’t feel particularly emotional. Our first look was joyful, not tearful. Since we had already seen each other, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and our families all gathered together in the basement of the church to await the start of the ceremony. Soon it was time for us to line up, and when I was standing next to my Dad in the narthex I felt the first flip in my stomach. I got another one when the string trio began to play the first song of the processional. After the last bridesmaid had begun her walk down the aisle, the doors to the sanctuary closed, and my Dad and I moved into position. I had specifically asked that the doors not be opened until about fifteen seconds into my song, so that we would hit the top of the aisle at the right point in the music. My emotions started to build, and I couldn’t help smiling, while we waited behind the closed doors. When the doors finally opened, I could hear an audible intake of breath from our guests. (That sounds horribly vain, but it’s true!) I think it was in part because I was wearing a blusher veil, which is so unexpected these days but so me, and my Dad looked stunningly handsome in his dress whites (military uniform). I had my eyes locked on John’s the entire time we walked down the aisle, but when we reached our guests, I had to start taking deep breaths in and out to try and control the impending flood. Once we got a little closer, I could hear the entire row of bridesmaids and entire row of groomsmen sniffling, and that finally opened the flood gates for me. We all had tears rolling down our faces throughout the beginning of our ceremony, so much so that our pastor had to remind everyone to take deep breaths before he began.

Who was one of the most special guests at your wedding? Besides my grandmothers, and John’s relatives who came from as far away as Taipei and Shanghai, our most special guest was our pastor, Carl. He’s the pastor of our church in North Carolina, and has had such a huge impact on our lives and our life together since we met him two years ago. We were so excited and grateful when he agreed to fly north to lead our ceremony. We were equally as devastated when we found out two months before our wedding that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He had surgery about a month before, and happily, was recovered in time to still make the trip. His presence was one of the most special parts of our entire day – our wedding would have felt entirely different (at least to John and me) had he not been a part of it.
Were there any family traditions you included in the ceremony? We chose to serve communion to our guests, since we found deep meaning in having our first act as a newly married couple be one of service. We used a silver cup from the church where my grandmother was baptized to hold the wine. We weren’t sure how our guests would react, but many told us communion was their favorite part of the day.
Did you write your own vows? We wrote our own vows and recited traditional vows, as we felt they both brought something meaningful to the ceremony. Our personal vows took the form of promises to each other. My favorite line from John’s vows was “I promise to always be available to and grateful for your love.” His favorite part from mine was the last line: “And if at the end, all I have done is loved you with all of my heart, I promise that for me, that will be enough.”

At some points during the budgeting process, I second-guessed our decision to hire a string trio, but I am SO glad we did. They played so beautifully, and really set the tone for the ceremony. They were accompanied by my childhood piano teacher, and having her there injected one more layer of meaning into the day. The moms walked down the aisle to “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” one of my very favorite hymns, and one that just says WEDDING to me (in the best way possible). My bridesmaids entered to “In Christ Alone,” which I had never heard mentioned as a processional, but which we received many compliments on. I loved it. My processional was to “A Thousand Years.” I debated long and hard over what song to use, and worried that I might regret choosing something so contemporary (especially something that first appeared in the Twilight movies – yikes!). But in the end, it was most important to me to have something that pulled at my emotional chords and made me feel something, and “A Thousand Years” most certainly did. If you’ve only heard the radio version, you’ve got to check out Vitamin String Quartet’s rendition! Our congregational hymn was “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” (love!), and our recessional was “Ode to Joy,” the same one my parents and my older sister and her husband used at their weddings.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We grew up in the same small town in Connecticut, and went to different elementary schools, but had many of the same friends. Despite this, we did not meet each other until middle school, when all the elementary schools pooled into one school. I had a crush on John, but sadly, it was not reciprocated. Fast forward to high school, where we were still in interlocking groups of friends, but more acquaintances than anything else. I still thought John was cute, of course, but he was dating someone else. Fast forward again to senior year. We had a class together with a mutual good friend, and so began to hang out more. Unbeknownst to me, John had developed a crush on me, but didn’t really know what to do about it. He even resorted to loudly talking about how much he liked me while sitting a few seats away from my younger sister in the cafeteria (hoping she would overhear and report back), but to no avail. Finally, in January of their senior year, John (with the encouragement of our friend Jeremy) mustered up the courage to say something. He called me up out of the blue and blurted out “So… I think I like you.” To which I responded with nervous giggles, obviously. A first date was eventually arranged (ice skating), and we have been together ever since.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: joyful, thoughtful, and precious
How many guests attended your wedding? About 120
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? I have been studying wedding magazines for about thirteen years now, and working at one for three. So I’ve seen a lot of weddings, and a ton of creative and unique ideas. Though I love almost all of them, I knew the vast majority weren’t right for John and me. Our wedding style was classic, while never taking itself too seriously. We wanted everything to fit seamlessly into our beautiful seaside location, and in the end, I think it did.
What were your wedding colors? This is a tough question! People always looked at me like I had two heads when I tried to explain. Let’s go with powder blue, black and white, blush pink, dove gray, and environmental green. There might have been some peach in there, too.
What was the biggest challenge you faced when planning your wedding? Isn’t it always the budget? I almost feel guilty giving that answer, though, because we were extremely lucky to have a larger amount to work with than most, and were so grateful for everything we were able to afford. But when you know what’s out there, it’s hard to stop yourself from wanting more!
What range did your budget fall into? $25,000-$50,000
How did you spend the morning or afternoon before your big day? Though we had to wake up earlier than I would have chosen (6:15) to start the hair and makeup process, the morning was perfect – slow and relaxed, and spent with just my sisters, John’s sisters, and our moms. We had reserved a large suite at a cozy local inn, and we had the windows and door open all day, letting in the crisp early fall air. I also made a custom playlist to set the right mood, a tip I’d highly recommend!
Did you have any special readings? We spent much time choosing our readings, and we were so happy with them in the end! We chose one from the Bible, Colossians 3:12-17, and had a good friend with whom we went to high school and college read it. (She also has her Masters of Divinity, so she was extra qualified!) Our second reading was an excerpt from “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis, which begins “Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing.” Our dear friend from college read that one. Our final reading was the one we had the most difficulty choosing. After going through a box of old notes we had written to each other over the years, we finally settled on an excerpt from “The Petite Prince” that I had included with a letter to John years before. For those who are familiar with the book, we choose the conversation between the fox and the prince about what it means to be tamed. Our ninth grade English teacher and my mentor of eleven years read it, which was only fitting, as she was the one who had introduced me to it years before.
Who participated in your ceremony? Growing up I had three best friends (all of whom I’m still quite close with), and one of them did us the honor of singing “Set Me As a Seal” and “Come Thou Font of Every Blessing” during communion. It was so beautiful!

Romantic Florida Wedding by Andi Mans Photography

Savannah, a “backwoods princess,” and her wedding planner, Ms. Brandee Gaar, turned The Lange Farm into a romantic and relaxed reception site full of intimate details. I love how they were able to combine the farm’s natural, rustic charm with feminine accents to make Savannah + Robbie’s big day a sweet marriage (pun intended!) of the couple’s style. Seems only appropriate that these two are going on a “huntingmoon”!

Big thanks to our friend Andi Mans for capturing their big day and making us feel like we were in attendance! Especially that line dance photo!

How fantastic is this, y’all?! That image on the left is the inside of Savannah’s boot – she had them custom made with a piece of the couples’ vows inside! GUSH! Oh, and that big ol’ side braid is so stylish!

Describe your wedding flowers: I really wanted to keep an enchanted feeling with the florals — something magical, yet just-picked. My sister and I grew up as backwoods princesses. I wanted to make it feel just like we did as young girls in the middle of the woods playing dress up with lots of soft colors and bright greens. My florist absolutely nailed it.

How stinkin’ cute are these two? What a sweet set of sisters!

What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? By far the food. We knew from the get-go that if all else failed, our wedding dinner would still be phenomenal. We are HUGE foodies, and that was our top priority. Our best memories are when we are sitting together with family and friends at our favorite restaurant, at home cooking together, or discovering a secret spot when we are on vacation. Food is what brings people together, and it’s what brought us together. We wanted it to be an experience for our guests, not just a meal.

Y’all, I am seriously dying over these chairs! I love how they utilized them at the ceremony AND at the reception. Wonder if i can have them in my house next?

Ok, and now these pups? I can’t get over them!

Did you decide to do a “first look”? Robbie wanted it to be the biggest surprise of his life and wanted to keep it special. I agreed. It made the connection between us very special because when we looked at each other, we didn’t see Robbie and Savannah, we immediately saw husband and wife. It was an incredible feeling and no one else existed in that moment.
Did you write your own vows? Yes, we wrote our own vows. My favorite was when Robbie said, “I will always cherish the gift you have so passionately given me: true love.” Robbie loved when I said he was my best friend and the one my soul loves.
What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony? Corinthians was read at the ceremony, my favorite bible verse.
Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. I walked down the aisle to the acoustic version of “When a Man Loves a Woman.” We walked back to the acoustic version of “Remember When” by Alan Jackson. Our first dance was “You Had Me From Hello” by Brad Paisley — a song that deeply touches Robbie’s heart. It’s special because Robbie used to sing that to wake me up every morning when we bought our first house.

Still dying over these chairs! Anyone else think I need them?

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: We both agree that our dinner with our friends and family was our favorite detail (besides marrying each other). We came up with the idea of setting our table up as a horse shoe. It still distinguished the wedding party, but we were able to see everyone. The decorations were absolutely stunning. It was the perfect blend of simple and elegant and made everyone feel right at home — just the way we like it.

Our wedding was smothered in Southern charm and we wouldn’t have had it any other way! For starters, our venue was on a horse farm and our reception and after party was in a beautiful antique barn. One of my favorite details was that I had a charm of a buck (from a necklace Robbie bought me when I got my first buck) and Robbie’s late father’s watch attached to my bouquet so I had a special piece of family with me. I also rounded up all my gals to join me in a sassy line especially for Robbie. We had custom cowboy boots handmade by Lucchese out of El Paso, Texas, and for a personal detail, we each had a piece of our vows engraved inside our boots!

Describe your wedding cake or dessert: Our poor wedding cake was so simple, but it was so perfect for us. It was a beautiful white three-tiered cake on a wood stump. Growing up, I fell in love with “Steel Magnolias” (that’s where a lot of my inspiration came from) and I always knew I had to have a great groom’s cake at my wedding. My groom was the perfect inspiration for an over-the-top groom’s cake and it absolutely did not disappoint!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. Our story is one of true “fate.” I was waitressing at a small Italian restaurant in Ponce Inlet, Fl. Robbie was a regular customer, (large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms). After a few giggles and small talk, I started to see him more than a few times a month. He actually used to order take out just so we could sit and talk, then he would go home and throw the food away. After eight months of friendship, we started to date. It didn’t take very long for us to be completely in love. We are best friends and we have been having the time of our lives ever since.
Describe the proposal. I thought I would hate him forever for this story, but it has become one of my favorites because it was a proposal with character. Robbie and I had to cancel our Christmas trip to Atlantis unexpectedly and wound up spending Christmas at home. He and I had to drive to our shop to grab a few things before heading to his parents’ house for dinner. I was loading up our truck and I accidentally locked our dog and the keys in the truck. My dear Robbie was furious. After what seemed like a decade, I finally found a locksmith to come unlock the truck for us. As I climbed up in Robbie’s four-wheel drive, my brand new iPhone slipped out of my pocket and shattered. My Christmas Day was off to a bad start, but we finally made it to his parents’ house. After about an hour, Robbie decided it was present time and I went first. Everyone was acting funny and all I could think was, “Dear God, please don’t propose to me. Not here, not now, and definitely not after the way you got mad at me!” Sure enough he got down one knee, and I said yes.
In what month did you get married? December
How many guests attended your wedding? 35
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: My sister and I went to Solutions Bridal Orlando and the first gown Roberta brought me was the one we both fell in love with. It just belonged to me, and I knew it was the one I wanted to marry Robbie in.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Having to move our wedding venue. We originally planned to have it at our own ranch. Our vision was to have an intimate ceremony on our 6,000 square foot island in the middle of a pond on our property. Our hearts were broken when we found our new home was infested with termites in the middle of remodeling. With the instability of the situation, we opted for the safer option of moving the venue just six months before our wedding day. After a few venues fell through, our vision for a rustic elegant wedding began to fade. But we kept our spirits high and knew what was meant to be, will be. Sure enough, we found the Lange Farms.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? The way my groom looked at me when I walked down the aisle. It was like no one else existed. I know that’s cheesy, but I would give anything to live those moments over and over again. For Robbie, it was when Savannah’s granddad put my hand in his. He said, “It was very symbolic and it made my world complete, he literally gave me my best-friend.”
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? I think we both agree that the most important thing to remember is that this is your day and no one else’s. Customize it and make the wedding your own. Just let it be and enjoy your big day. Have an absolute blast, laugh and dance and don’t stop kissing your new husband. It’s an incredible feeling and a beautiful day that is gone in a heartbeat, so don’t spend it stressed. Soak it all up and take it in because that time is so precious.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Well when we get home from our “Huntingmoon” (yes we are hunting for our honeymoon), we will be sitting on the back porch with a big glass of ice tea and be taking a nice deep breath of fresh air because a year of wedding planning sure was fun, but we couldn’t be happier it’s over. Robbie and I fully intend on raising a family in the next few years, but for now my new hubby is building me a nice house with a big wrap-around porch. That’s going to be our next project and we couldn’t be more excited.

January 21, 2013 by Emily in Main,Sponsor Love | 2 comments

We’ve had a swell of, well, swell new additions to our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory, and I’m so happy to share a few of them with you today!

Anna Routh has a sweet, bubbly personality that is reflected in her life-filled photographs. She is based in North Carolina!

Arney Walker’s calligraphy is classic and clear, and as a business owner she is committed to delivering the best customer service experience possible.

Ashley K Photography has a gorgeous style that will appeal to the romantic, traditional bride. She is based in Texas!

Better Half Weddings first caught our eye through this shoot, but their fun, upbeat personalities speak for themselves! They are based in Florida and offer event planning and design.

Brocade Designs is, in their own words, “a full-service floral event design company that specializes in awesome!” We couldn’t agree more! They’re based in Nashville.

Chris Isham is a South Carolina photographer who believes in simplicity, as evidenced by his simply lovely images!

Stefanie of Lavender Joy Weddings was the genius behind our Yellow Rose V5 shoot, but she creates gorgeous real weddings every month, too! Her kind and patient personality would be a boon to any Texas bride.

Ruth Eileen is an artist who loves to have fun, and gets giddy about your love story! She is based in South and North Carolina, and we love her lively images.

Sweet Southern Charm is a vintage rental company in Florida lead by two Southern gals who grew up “A+ yard sale pickin’ mamas.” Sounds like a good foundation for supplying vintage decor to me!

Two Be Wed is a boutique wedding planning firm in Texas led by Natalie Dawley. We love that included in their listing how much they love and honor marriage, not just weddings!

Elegant Georgia Barn Wedding by Bamber Photography

Every time I sit down to write a Real Wedding post, the first thing I do is read the interview. Somehow, the details of each wedding feel so much more meaningful when I know why the couple in the images chose each one. When reading Jessica + Troy’s interview, I was so taken by how Jessica used each detail to show who she and Troy are as a couple, and to honor their family traditions. As just one example, she said, “We loved how all the details came together to tell our story. The bouquet I carried had a single green button on the back because the night Troy and I met, he caught one of his buttons on his chair and it ripped a hole in his shirt. He held his shirt closed the rest of the night, hoping I wouldn’t notice.” I love how a single button can represent a moment in their relationship! There’s much more where that came from, so read on!

Big thanks to our friends at Bamber Photography for capturing J + T’s big day!

Neither my mom nor my sister lived in Atlanta, so for my birthday they both came to visit and took me dress shopping. I planned a whirlwind weekend, getting appointments at every store I had heard of in effort to find the dress while they were with me. But by the end of the weekend, I was so exhausted that I couldn’t keep the dresses straight in my mind. I waited about a month and by that time there were only two dresses from the same store that I just couldn’t forget. When I went back with my bridesmaids, we couldn’t decide between the stunning lace of one dress and the flattering shape of the other so I combined the two.

Y’all, this may be one of my favorite details I’ve seen recently. I wish I’d done this for my sweet groom!

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. Troy’s brother is a musician so it meant a lot to have him play the music during our ceremony. I walked down the aisle to “In Christ Alone.” It is my favorite hymn and really says everything I wanted about entering into marriage. We also had him play “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz as we took communion. As corny as it may sound, the lyrics are really poignant about the sacrifice and commitment of marriage. We did our first dance to “Moon River.” It’s such a romantic song and reminds me of the ones I used to listen to on the radio at my grandmother’s house when I was little.
Describe your wedding flowers: A mix of ivory garden roses and ranunculus with olive branches.

I attended the wedding of my Godbrother last weekend, and they chose to do a moment of prayer around the bride and groom at the rehearsal dinner. It proved to be an incredibly emotional and powerful moment, and I love that Jessica + Troy chose to do something similar at their ceremony.

Stunning portraits from Bamber Photography! Oh my!

I think the fact that we wanted to emphasize family most reflected Southern tradition in our wedding. We chose to get married in Rome because Troy’s family has lived there for more than a century, and his grandfather owned a farm there for nearly 30 years. Our pastor was Troy’s cousin who is a good friend of ours and who spoke amazingly personal words to us in our ceremony. We had a small group of family and close friends so we invited all of our guests to stand around us and pray over us at the end of the ceremony. My mom found wedding pictures of our family from six generations back which we used to decorate the reception. We also had our dinner served family style so that our guests could share good food and conversation with each other and take the evening at its own pace.

Mini grilled cheese – yum! I know Emily would love that!

What a magical setting for the reception!

These little “did you know” cards popped up throughout the celebration, cluing guests in to why Jessica and Troy chose to include certain meaningful details. I love this idea so much!

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Our first priority for planning our wedding was making it about us. We really wanted the day celebrating our union to emphasize who we were. We loved how all the details came together to tell our story. For our first Christmas, among other things, he bought me a jar of buttons in my favorite color so that I could replace it and we would both remember that night. Even our decorations were meaningful. We used railroad lanterns among the vintage furniture because my grandfather was a train conductor on the Seaboard railroad.

Describe your wedding cake or dessert: I don’t like cake so we didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a traditional wedding cake. Every year on my birthday, my grandmother used to make me a pound cake and it’s still the only cake I’ll eat. It’s unbelievable. My grandmother isn’t with us to make the cake anymore so my dad, whom I’m very close to, spent the day before the wedding making her recipe for us. Troy’s groom’s cake was a big chocolate cake from a bakery in his home town. Troy loves chocolate, so every year on his birthday I make him a cake like my grandmother did for me, but this year his birthday was the week before the wedding. We also had all of our favorite pies. There’s just something about pie that reminds me of fall and being close to family.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. We met at a birthday party. Troy and I were both invited by a mutual friend. Our friend picked me up first so all Troy could see when he got in the car was my hair. He says it was love at first sight. When we got to the party, Troy tried to sit next to me but kept getting stuck between a couple of guys with tattoos and facial piercings. We still managed to talk across the table all night but he never asked for my number because he thought I was dating our friend. He moved in with that friend a few weeks later and after not seeing me come to the house, he asked if we were dating. He called me about five minutes after finding out we weren’t.
Describe the proposal. Troy’s family spent one Thanksgiving at Cumberland Island and it has become one of his favorite memories with them. Knowing that I would love everything about it, he had been telling me about the island almost as long as we’d been dating. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday so we spent it with my family in Jacksonville and took the short trip up to Cumberland Island while we were there. We got to the island early in the morning and spent the whole day hiking and watching the wild horses. At the end of the day we got to the ruins of the old Carnegie plantation. I’m an engineer, so Troy knew I would love how the shell of brick walls tell the story of the beautiful house that once stood there. The house overlooks a marsh and onto the ocean so we laid out a blanket to rest and watch the sun go down after our long day. I had only just gotten comfortable when he made me get back up for a picture. After a lot of resistance, I stood with my back to him overlooking the water while he got the camera ready. When I turned around he was on one knee and the automatic timer on the camera went off just as I started to cry.
In what month did you get married? November
How many guests attended your wedding? 100
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? About six weeks before the wedding, Troy was offered a promotion in another state and had to move quickly. Just being without him for that long at that time was difficult, but I also had to finish planning the wedding, transfer my job, and pack up all of our belongings mostly by myself.
What range did your wedding budget fall into? $25,000-$50,000
What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? Photography, it’s the only thing you will have left when the day is over.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Coming over the hill and seeing Troy waiting for me at the end of the aisle.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Settling down! We had to stay in a hotel for a few weeks after we moved, waiting for our apartment to be ready. So more than a month after our wedding, we are just now getting to unpack and set up our home.
