Originally hailing from Lexington, the BBQ capital of Western North Carolina, Kristin grew up across the Carolinas, developing a deep love for BBQ and all things Southern (e.g., front porches with rocking chairs, sweet tea (extra ice please!), big pearls, monograms (you can monogram anything, y’all)…She currently resides in a sweet little Virginia mountain town with her brand-spankin’ new husband. Admittedly, she loves any excuse to bake, always has supplies on-hand to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies, and secretly wishes she had her own show on the Food Network. Kristin is a self-proclaimed bookworm, she will re-write post-it notes if she doesn’t like her penmanship, and she experiences great joy when crossing things off her to-do list(s).

Hometown: Gastonia, NC
Alma Mater: University of North Carolina, Chapel-Hill
Major: Advertising + Communication Studies
Birthday: April 21
How I got into weddings: I actually started planning my wedding in middle school. Obviously, I kept a spiral bound notebook to keep track of the details (see comments above re: post-it notes and to-do lists), and my long-term relationship with weddings has deepened each time I’ve been a part of a one. (The Bridesmaid Counter sits at 10, with several more in the queue).
Favorite food: Frozen Yogurt
Favorite color: Pink
Favorite non-wedding blog or site: www.goheels.com (Rah, rah Carolina-lina)
Favorite part about working at SW: The people! The great Southern Weddings gals, our wonderful vendors, our amazing readers?!?! Seriously! Everyone is incredible.
You would be surprised to know: I don’t go anywhere without a snack. I am not a fun person to be around when I’m hungry, so I always travel with granola bars, almonds, chewing gum, etc.
I am committed to: Living life with unbridled passion, loving my family, and trying to enjoy every moment, no matter how small.
I love: Jesus, my ah-mah-zing family + friends, sweet tea, monograms, and Carolina Basketball
I know: I try each day to hold myself to a standard of GRACE, not perfection (thanks @emilyley)
“My motto”: Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.

If money, time, and space were no object…
Nancy Ray would shoot my wedding.
Rebecca Rose would help me pull all the details together.
My sweet little grandma Jewell would be a VIP guest. She passed away a few summers ago. She was my absolute favorite and is responsible for my love affair with monograms.
I would wear an Amsale ballgown with buttons, pockets and a big bow in the back.
We would hold the ceremony in Chapel Hill, NC (in the spring).
Melissa Cook would get me prettified. A girl and her hairdresser; a relationship that should not tampered with.
Lindy Floral would make me a gorgeous bouquet of soft white garden roses, luscious white peonies, white hydrangeas and freesia (*swoon*)
My china pattern anything Kate Spade (perhaps classic Library Lane, along with those precious platinum polka-dot dessert plates)
