Sierra, SW’s Assistant Art Director, is your typical Southern girl. That is, after age one. (She was born in Massachusetts, so she technically entered this world as a Northerner!) She moved around a lot growing up but primarily grew up in Nashville and was destined to be a true country music fan. She even interned at CMT one summer! She currently joins Whitney and Nicole as a proud Tar Heel at the University of North Carolina studying design. She loves all desserts, sweet tea, chicken, bowties, sundresses and cowboy boots. She hopes to be an adorable Southern bride one day!

Hometown: Nashville, TN, and Burlington, NC
Alma Mater: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Major: Journalism & Mass Communication (Graphic Design) and Communication Studies (Media Studies/Media Production)
Birthday: November 26 (Thanksgiving baby!)
How I got into weddings: I have always thought they were beautiful, and there is so much room for self expression, creativity and ways to celebrate the relationships in your life. And really, the photography alone is captivating no matter how sappy or into weddings you are.
Favorite food: My mom makes “cowboy chicken” for my brother and I which is code for any type of grilled white chicken. I love Chicken Fettuccine from Olive Garden and bread of any kind.
Favorite color: Blue… currently mint or aqua.
Favorite non-wedding blog or site: Interior design blogs. They are so refreshing, and I don’t even have a house or apartment to decorate! Or Pinterest.
Favorite part about working at SW: Everything involved with Southern Weddings is incredibly cute! But most of all, I would say getting to travel on photo shoots and work weddings.

You would be surprised to know: I have lived in four states (two north, two south).
I am committed to: Being the best I can be at whatever I do.
I love: My family, my boyfriend and the outdoors.
I know: God has a plan for my life.
My motto: Hard work will always pay off. For example, I started as an intern at Southern Weddings frantically going to and from the post office, and look where I am now!

If money, time, and space were no object…

Joey + Jessica
would shoot my wedding.
I want to look like the V3 cover model at my wedding. And they were so nice when I worked with them at the V4 shoot!
Carrie Underwood would be a VIP guest. She’s just the cutest person ever!
I would wear a Priscilla of Boston A-Line gown. I will just have to find one somewhere.
We would hold the ceremony at a church near the beach in the Charleston or Savannah area. My dad’s family has lived in those cities. I always make excuses to go visit. Any of y’all from SC or GA?
There would be a gorgeous bouquet of peonies.
We would eat grilled salmon with vegetables. My boyfriend cooked this for me in the dorm for Valentine’s Day a few years ago. It was too sweet and surprisingly delicious!
My cake would be strawberry or lemon flavored with homemade icing. A dessert bar is probably in the works, too. Yum!
Our first dance song: Still thinking on this one but probably a sweet country song.
Guests would then boogie/waltz/sock-hop to: Still thinking.
We would honeymoon in The Caribbean. Somewhere tropical and romantic.
My china pattern would be antique and beautiful. I actually really like my mother’s wedding china.
