How I got into weddings: I have photographed with film my entire life… After college, I began work as a counselor for children and adolescents, while still using the same camera I have had since grade school to photograph dear friends. I was invited to photograph my first wedding in 2004. Have loved it ever since. Still, to this day, using that same grade school camera…
Favorite part of a wedding day? The time I spend with the couple alone, away from the busyness of the day.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Take a moment for yourselves. Time moves way too fast. I have been married for five years and still remember the few brief moments we were alone… reminiscing such sweet moments.
Favorite Southern city? Charleston… love the art and culture.
Early bird or night owl? Definitely a night owl.
Pie bar or red velvet cake? Oh man. Lemon meringue forever. And a good ol Southern pecan pie… or persimmon pudding. Anything but cake.
Succulents or peonies? Peonies are my favorite flower.
