I’m a Southern girl with a special place in my heart for Southern weddings. Every time I meet a bride, I’m filled with a new excitement and energy to photograph. It’s a joy to me to be able to meet new wonderful people and share such a special journey with them to their wedding day. And, let’s face it, there just isn’t anything like a true Southern wedding. For me, it’s all about the details. I want pictures of everything – your vintage hairpin, your handmade name cards, your dog’s bejeweled color that reads ‘Mut of Honor,’ your granny’s gravy slathered over her famous fried chicken and, most importantly, the love you feel that is completely immeasurable on your wedding day. I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing industry because I get to share in my clients’ joy and love. I catch myself smiling (or crying sometimes – woops!) behind my camera at every wedding. How lucky am I to be able to experience and capture such a special day for my couples? Having been a part of this industry for four years now, I never tire of the excitement and joy that comes with every new wedding.

Name(s): Anna Routh Photography
Where you call home: Chapel Hill, NC (Go Heels!)
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I’d write home to my momma to tell her that Anna Routh Photography has been featured on wedding blogs and in print publications since its inception. And, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings everywhere from Dallas to Raleigh to Mexico to Greece!
Location/coverage: North Carolina (and destinations)
How I got into weddings: Once I got to the point where I was interested in marrying my guy, and when I started seeing some of my friends getting engaged and married, it was clear to me that photographing a wedding is an amazing honor and a beautiful thing to be a part of. I immediately enlisted some brave friends to let me photograph their weddings and fell in love. I guess you could say the rest is history.
Favorite part of a wedding day: I know this is a popular answer, but the first look is a clear winner for me. Whether this takes place in private, and only I get to witness the sheer joy and emotion when the bride and groom first lay eyes on each other, or if it’s when the doors open and the groom spots his bride headed down the aisle, it is an amazing moment. So much emotion.
Dream travel destination: This is constantly changing for my husband and I, but right now we’re jones-ing to visit Iceland!
Favorite Southern city: Probably New Orleans. NOLA is such a vibrant city with so much to take in – the food, the sounds, the culture.
Early bird or night owl? Night owl
Pie bar or red velvet cake? Pie bar
Succulents or peonies? Peonies. The smell makes me melt.
