Since drawing and writing on the walls when we were just four, we’ve always loved paper and design. We’ve taken that love and turned it into the Designs in Paper design studio, making incredibly cool paper goods for every aspect of your wedding. You’ve got a unique personality and style – we’ll take your ideas and create a paper suite that makes your guests say, “We HAVE to go to this wedding.”
Where you call home: Nashville, Tennessee
Things you’d write home to Momma about: While we’ve been published in several magazines, internationally and stateside, and received accolades from various blogs in various contests, one of the things we’re the most proud of is having a bride call us months or years after her wedding because we’re the only paper company she’d ever use for her paper goods. Knowing that we’ve left that kind of impression is absolutely the biggest reward ever.
Location/coverage: Nashville, but we’re all over! (Nationwide and beyond – we’ve done French and Italian invitations!)
How I got into weddings: We’ve always done paper goods, and once we’d done a few wedding invitations, those brides told their friends, who told their friends…
Favorite things about weddings in the South: Southern weddings are all around – churches, barns, fields – pretty much anywhere you can find a place to have a gathering. Whatever your personality is, there’s an awesome spot to have a wedding – just about any time of the year.
Favorite part of a wedding day: That special moment between a couple when there’s a tear of joy that shows the unbridled emotion of love – wherever it happens, whenever it happens.
Best piece of advice: Regardless of how much stress you have in your life, find a way, however small or big, to laugh with each other. Everything seems a little less crazy if you can just laugh regularly.
Dream travel destination: Italy and Africa.
Favorite Southern city: We love, love, love Franklin and Nashville, Tennessee but a close second is Charleston, South Carolina.
Early bird or night owl: Definitely night owl
Pie bar or red velvet cake: Oh, to have to make a choice! Red velvet cake by a bite.
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? For the creative side of us, Anthropologie. For the practical side of us, Pottery Barn.
Succulents or peonies? Peonies, hands down.
