Fit to be Tied Bridal started out like so many other stories: I was searching for something I couldn’t find and decided to make it myself. Based on the reaction I received from friends and family, I knew I just had to share my passion for pretty things with others! We pride ourselves on making every sample and every order by hand, meaning that every petal is hand cut and every bead is hand sewn. We do everything we can to ensure a unique and quality product that we think brides will just love to pieces! We believe that your wedding is the perfect time to showcase your individual style, and we will do everything we can to help you achieve your perfect look!
Where you call home: Houston, TX
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I tell my Mom about every order I receive because I’m so thankful that brides react the way they do to my designs. I’m proud of every milestone my company makes, no matter how small, and I call up Mom and tell her about all of them! She was the first one I called to let her know I was accepted to be a Southern Weddings Blue Ribbon Vendor!
Location/coverage: Currently sold in Houston Bridal Gallery and Something Blue bridal shops in Texas, and available to brides everywhere!
How I got into weddings: I worked at a bridal shop selling wedding gowns in college for a few years, so that was my break into the industry. I’ve always loved all things weddings and had been planning my own big day for as long as I can remember.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? I love a good ole’ fashioned rustic backyard wedding! And those are definitely prevalent in the South. I love weddings that take place in a barn, with one long wooden table for the family and light fixtures made out of mason jars! There’s a lot of creativity and charm in the South!
Best piece of advice to give to brides and grooms? Relax and enjoy your day! It will go by so quickly, and you’ll want to soak up every lovely minute of it! Also, don’t be afraid to be yourselves, whether it’s in the design of the invitations, the venue, or dancing to the Chicken Dance. You will have such a fantastic time if you allow yourselves to be the bride and groom, and leave the details to someone else!
Dream travel destination? Personally, I am dying to go to Paris! How cliché, I know, but I did study fashion in school, so it’s kind of ingrained in me. Professionally, I would love for brides all over the globe to be able to enjoy our designs! We actually have our first international bride in January, and we’re excited to continue to expand!
Favorite Southern City? I’m from Virginia, so I have to say that’s one of my favorites places ever. Especially the Shenandoah Mountains where my grandparents live. I also really love the Carolinas. The weather is amazing!
Early bird or night owl? I am definitely a night owl; I do most of my designing after dinner. Or dessert.
Pie bar or red velvet cake? Pie bar! Although, my friends had a mashed potato bar at their wedding and that was amazing!
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? Anthropologie all the way! I have a problem with collecting dresses from there. I need professional help.
Succulents or peonies? There is definitely a place for both in a Southern wedding, but I would have to go with peonies. I used them in my wedding, and they are one of my favorite flowers!
