How I got into weddings: I grew up DJing. Before I could even drive, I was doing shows. After college, I realized I still wanted to DJ, but not at frat parties. As I got older, so did my friends, and that’s when they started getting married and asking me to DJ their receptions. I became so busy that I started hiring other DJs and formed Joe Bunn DJ Company.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The heat, just kidding. I love all of the amazing venues down South, from historic homes to swank hotels, we have it all.
Favorite part of a wedding day? The first dance. After I introduce the couple and everyone goes nuts, they hit the dance floor for their first dance, that’s the magic.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms: ENJOY your reception! On the day of, there is nothing more you can do. There is no more planning. Just relax and enjoy it.
Dream travel destination: Spain, I’ve never been.
Favorite Southern city: Charleston, no contest.

Pie bar or red velvet cake: Red velvet!
