Name(s): Scott and Melissa Hopkins
Where you call home: We spend most of our time running
back and forth between St. Simons Island, Savannah and
Hilton Head Island.
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: We
have really worked hard over the years to build relationships
with our clients and with other wedding professionals in our
area. This year we were elected into the prestigious
Savannah Wedding Professionals and have had our worked
featured on a number of wedding blogs and sites. Scott has
also won competitions with his photos from WPJA (Wedding
Photojournalist Association).
How we got into weddings: Scott originally started out 16
years ago photographing nature and assisting with teaching
nature photography in the Great Smokey Mountains. He
eventually started helping his friend with weddings and in
2004 started his business full time. Melissa joined on after
they were married in 2008 and made the move to Savannah
in 2009.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The south offers
a variety of stunning locations for events. From plantations
with large oak trees draped in Spanish moss to low tide on
the marsh at sunset, you really can’t go wrong down here.
Favorite part of a wedding day? Our favorite part of the
wedding day is right after the ceremony. All of the nerves
have disappeared and the couple has a chance to enjoy the
first moments of their marriage.
Pie bar or red velvet cake? We happen to have some of the
best red velvet cake makers down here in Savannah so we
would have to choose red velvet cake.
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? We are more like Restoration
Hardware.
