That Girl Press is a small design studio that specializes in decidedly different wedding and reception stationery, each uniquely inspired by a wide range of design styles.
Where you call home: Home is the great state of Texas; where I live is Virginia.
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: Well, my Momma’s been gone a while now, but I am sure she can still hear me nattering on so I would say…Momma, you were right…someday people will pay for the things I draw. And yes, you were right to insist that the award I got in first grade for drawing the best Mickey Mouse in the whole school was the first but NOT the last blue ribbon award I would ever win. This past year I’ve been humbled to appear in top ten of two of Minted’s biggest design contests of the year. In addition, I was invited to design for Crane and Co’s newest holiday line up and had all twelve of my designs chosen for their collection.
Location/coverage: Nationwide, Canada, Australia and England.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The plethora of old trees, old silver, old women and ice cold sweet tea.
Favorite part of a wedding day? When the bride walks down the aisle and all eyes are on her, I like to look at the groom. He is either openly crying or trying really, really hard not to. That’s when you know it’s gonna be a good one.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Do you madly, truly, deeply? The answer might be yes today, but it won’t always be, so be sure you’re best friends too. It will help you get over those days when the answer is no.
Early bird or night owl? Early bird
Pie bar or red velvet cake? Pie bar, especially if it’s pecan.
Pottery Barn or Anthropologie? Both please.
Succulents or peonies? Peonies. Big ol’ fat ones.
